He's Walking!!!! Our youngest one....

Well, C has officially taken his first steps as of Saturday which makes him our youngest walker thus far. He did 2 unassisted steps. Then Sunday, he did 5, and this morning he has taken 6! He is still experimenting on balance and what he can and cannot do - what a fun time this is to watch. The picture to the left shows him in step 2 of his 6 step record.

Okay, as of 4pm he has taken 13 steps. He has also managed to dump the plant (full of water) on top of his head. Let the fun begin :)

My husband the plumber

I just have to say that my hubby rocks! He is just one of those people that always seems to know something about everything. We had a leak start on Thursday in our shower - yikes! So, my amazing hubby went to work. Although we didn't have water for much of the day on Thursday, he was able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed. It was some kind of washer/pipe part that ended up causing the problem so we had to replace the knobs in our bathroom and we went ahead and upgraded our shower head so everything would match. We weren't planning on this so that was a surprise but I just know that he saved us hundreds of dollars!!! Way to go hubby.

Here are the knew knobs - so clean!

And the massaging shower head is nice!

So, although he is not technically a plumber - if you ever have a question - my husband just might be able to help you out :)

Mommy, my ear turned off...

This was the comment A told me yesterday around 3:30pm. Then about 5 minutes later it turned on again and all was well. And then at 4pm the pain started. I thought this must be trouble and made an appointment with our pediatrician for this morning. A took a nap and that was the last I heard of her complaints. I halfway thought about cancelling the appointment but it isn't like her to complain so off we went. And you guessed it - she has a raging ear infection. It is a good thing she can talk b/c I had no clue. I have to admit that I am lucky. I can count her ear infections on one hand. The last one she had was 2 1/2 years ago - before B was born! At least I got a $25 CVS giftcard out of the deal. I love CVS!!!

Chicks, Chicks, and Chicks

My neighbor and friend, Tracy, has 7 chickens!! Apparently her husband gave her the chicks for Easter. The kids are so excited. We went over there last night and the kids got to meet them, pick them up, feed them oatmeal, etc. They had so much fun. A is now a professional chicken scooper. Even C wanted to pet them but he is still learning to be gentle! B kept saying, "don't squeeze them."

So, there you have the chicks. Stay tuned for more updates as they grow. The kids are looking forward to frequent visits.

50 and 10

Well, I realized yesterday that today A is 50! 50 months that is. And C is 10 months. Ahhh, time goes by so fast. I honestly stopped counting A in months ages ago but when I realized yesterday that she would be 50 I thought that was pretty cool.

I love the age 4. Honestly, all the ages have been fun for me but I am really loving when A does creative story telling. A few days ago I curled up in my bed hoping to have a few moments to myself when A joined me. She grabbed my Bible and started reading it to me. She told me all about the beginning and when there was Jesus and his Mommy and Daddy. And then she started telling me about the smiling penguin who was tall but no quite as tall as Jesus. Jesus took the penguin to meet his disciples and then they all got on the boat before meeting His parents. I just loved it! I am so glad I didn't get those few minutes away and was able to hear that it just made my week. Above is A dressed as Ro from Island Princess.

And here is big boy himself. He seems to be cutting even more teeth which amazes me b/c the girls were getting their first tooth at this age. He already has six choppers. And he has been walking quite well with his walker toy - just waiting for him to take those first steps. I think he is going to be like B and just run when he chooses to.

And a few days ago we had the "break" scare with B. She was playing at a friends house and apparently fell or jumped off the bed. Of course I wasn't in the room to see it and she was holding her right arm completely limp. I called the pediatrician and they said to have it x-rayed. Long story short - arm is completely fine and no break. Amazingly I have never broken a bone so I was really glad that she didn't either.

B's Big Catch

On Saturday, we decided to take the family down to HEB because they were holding a family friendly event that involved fishing. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but they had a huge area set up outside for kids and their families. The event included 2 huge jumpy houses, face painting, free Blue Bell, and a huge holding tank with probably 30 live catfish. There were approximately 10-12 fishing poles so only that many kids could fish at a time. They recorded the kids who caught the three longest fish every hour and then had an awards ceremony from 10am-4pm. B caught two fish, with Daddy's help of course. Her first one was 18 1/4 inches long and her second was 20 inches long which was good enough for a first place trophy and a Tony the Tiger backpack!!! Was I proud. Wish I had my camera but I was able to snap a shot of her coming in with her award.
