Burn Recovery

Hello friends.  My family has had a medical crisis.

Two weeks ago today, my oldest daughters A and B were severely burned in a homeschool co-op class.  Thankfully, both are recovering. B is bandaged and doing very well at home; A's wounds are much more extensive and I am still with her in the hospital.

Our family, church, and friends have been amazing.  Honestly, even people we don't know have been amazing.  I so appreciate all the love and support.

I've had lots of ups and downs in two weeks as you can imagine.  Some days are better than others - physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Burns are awful.  It is not fun being here.  Still, God is gracious and I know He has sustained us for a purpose. I truly cannot believe that it has already been two weeks.  I am so proud of my girls and the strength and character that they are showing in an extremely hard and challenging situation.

I don't know when we will be going home.  The surgeons says the treatment plan is dynamic so we just take one step at a time.

This picture is the first time A was able to get out of the hospital bed into a wheelchair - baby steps!

You all are such troopers! My girls were SO encouraged to see this sweet pic of A and see her smiling face. They have just been praying and praying.
We know you have a long road ahead still, but are excited for the next step of finally having some time at home and being together as a family!
