B crossing the finish line for Marathon Kids
One thing that we are doing to stay active as a family is walk and run. The kids just finished up their Marathon Kids last week and I could not be prouder (26.2 is an accomplishment)! I haven't gone running yet since having Baby F but I have been trying to take more walks and intentionally be more active.
Eat more tomatoes
Another thing that I do is to eat tomatoes! I remember reading an article years ago that said tomatoes were good for your heart. Well, that was a bummer because I didn't like them, not at all. But I chose to start eating them, slowly at first - on sandwiches, in salads, and while it took awhile - at least a year - now I love them! So bring on the tomatoes and a healthy heart!
In no particular order I would like to share with you five of my favorite recipes from the "American Heart Association Certified Recipes".
1. Broccoli Cheddar Rice
2. Creamy Turkey & Vegetable Lasagna
3. Turkey Meatloaf
4. Tilapia & Vegetable Casserole
5. Slow-Cooked Chicken & Butternut Squash
