Pass It On Book Review & Blog Tour

I want to share with you a book, a journal really.  It's called Pass It On (A Proverbs Journal For The Next Generation) by Champ Thornton.  The idea is simple.  Share yourself and your faith with the next generation, this legacy will stand the test of time.  This journal walks you through the book of Proverbs.  As you grow in your understanding of Proverbs this journal allows you to record and reflect your understanding and thoughts as well as your prayers and encouragements for the future generations.  You are creating your own personalized, wisdom journal with the goal of giving it to someone you love - hence the title, Pass It On.  And the ultimate goal, letting scripture impact the next generation.

You can circle, underline, connect key words and phrases, etc. throughout this journal.  I love that it focuses on growing one's understanding in Proverbs and then specifically sharing it with others through written word and thoughts.  The cover of this book is soft leather (possibly imitation) and the colors and artwork make me smile. There are 32 sections to complete.  Yes, there are only 31 Proverbs but Proverbs 22 is split into two sections; thus, 32 sections.  Each section contains a guided tour of the specific Proverb, At-A-Glance section of that Proverb, followed by the Proverb itself, a reflection section (for going deeper), a section for personalizing a prayer followed by a place to share your story.  I love how each sections contains the proverbs themselves for easy study and reference.  And the questions in each section are helpful for understanding, reflection and teaching.  It is self paced so how long it takes you is really up to you.  If you spend 10-20 minutes a day your personalized journal will be ready to give away in a little over a month.  If you spend 10-20 minutes every other day or each week it will take longer.  The speed of completion is not the focus though.  Your wisdom and encouragement is so don't worry if it takes you a bit longer.  I love the idea of passing on my journey to my kids and I'm thankful to have a tool to help me do that.
