Sue's Bracelet Helper Review

Have you heard of Sue's Bracelet Helper?  Sue's Bracelet Helper is a pretty, wire-wrapped bracelet aid.  It is in essence, a helping hand for anyone who struggles with their bracelet clasp and needs help putting it on by themselves.

I think this is an ingenious product.  How many situations can you think of when you wanted two of yourselves or possibly more hands?  The Sue's Bracelet Helper serves as an extra hand!  It works on a variety of bracelet closures and clasps.  It is available in 8 different wire colors: rose red, peridot, kelly green, baby blue, navy blue, purple, lavender, and pretty pink.  And there are five different charms to choose from: kitty cat face, leaf, half moon, love, and rose.

My Sue's Bracelet Helper with the love charm and my bracelet.   This particular clasp isn't extremely difficult to put on by myself but I wanted to try out my new helper!

 Just Clip

 Grip

 And Flip!

 Finished...

Sue has a great video on her website that you can view here for further instructions - clip, grip, and flip!  I am wondering if this will become a handy tool when teaching A to put on her own bracelets.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Dry Idea Review & Giveaway

*** Giveaway Is Now Closed ***
Congratulations to tarter95, Athena and Jenny!

As a Purex Insider, I have been given numerous opportunities.  This time I was selected to review Dry Idea Advanced Dry Roll-on deodorant.  This was a refreshing change from my usual deodorant stick.  I have been using a stick for the last 15-20 years.  First, a Roll-on is just different.  I had previously thought that a Roll-on wouldn't keep me as dry but I found that this wasn't the case for me.  I actually like that my roll-on is unscented and hypo-allergenic.  The best part about my new antiperspirant and deodorant roll-on, it works!  I am not sure where you live but I live in Texas.  Yesterday, the temperature reached 104!  And to tell you the truth, that is milder than it was this time last year - but you get the idea, it is hot!  This really isn't the place where you can get away with not using deodorant - there I said it.  I think everyone in Texas needs to where deodorant, sorry if I offended you :)  In addition to the roll-on, Dry Idea also carries the clear gel and invisible solid deodorant products.

The roll-on is available in Regular, Unscented and Powder Fresh (for those that want a scent)

Horse Camp

A loves horses!  Right now horses are her favorite animal.  So when David and I found out about a horse camp close to our home, we signed her up.  Last week she had a blast learning all about horses and horsemanship - from care and feeding to grooming and of course riding!

She was a little excited!
(This drawing was on our driveway before day 1 of camp.)

 Craft time at camp

Each day when we picked up A - B, C and D begged to get out and see the horses!  It turned out to be pretty fun for them.

 Learning to ride

 So happy!

 Bareback time

And of course, A loves her shirt :)
She is already making plans for next year's camp.

Glassy Natural House Review

My Garden

 My garden out back

I have a garden!  I have wanted to garden for a long time but never really got very far.  This raised bed has been in my back yard for years but I had never planted anything in it; now, I have a small variety of herbs and flowers and it makes me so happy :)  I am growing basil, oregano, parsley, two types of tomatoes, and two types of peppers (I like really spicy food).

I am not really sure when to pick these peppers but they are getting big!

I am looking forward to cooking with these.

I only have two tomatoes right now.

Do you garden?  I would appreciate any feedback or advice you might have.

Banana Splits for Dinner

Yes, we had banana splits for dinner tonight!  I think the kids were wondering what is going on with me.  Why did we do this?  Well, there is this little boy, Ryan Roberts, who is dying and he is only 21 months old.  His Mom, in honor of him, has a simple request - have banana splits with your kids for dinner - just for fun - watch them smile.  I heard about this today and I thought why not!  So, that's what we did.  You can read more about Ryan here.

 C very excited

A and B so happy

 Our dinner!

While E didn't eat a banana split she did have a sweeter than usual baby food!

Cultivation Generation My Foundation Review & Giveaway

*** Giveaway Now Closed ***
Congratulations to Kathy M!

I have another great Vineyard Worship album to tell you about, Cultivation Generation 'My Foundation' which just happens to release today, June 19th!  Cultivation Generation was founded by Jeremiah Carlson, who is also the lead singer and songwriter of The Neverclaim which is featured on this album.  Carlson received a vision to pioneer Cultivation Generation seven years ago. Other contributors include notable Vineyard worship leaders and songwriters Anabeth Morgan, Stephen Lampert, David Linhart and Jesse Meyer.

The album has 13 great songs!
- My Soul Longs
- Love Has Come, Love Has Won
- God Don't Never Change
- My Foundation
- Let It Shine
- The Bridegroom
- Your Kingdom's Here
- Worthy
- Life to Us
- Enthroned on High
- Walls Come Down
- They That Wait
- Song of Hope

The theme of this album is to be rooted in God's love - He should be your foundation!  Stylistically, this album is a mixture of many flavors of worship including Southern folk-rock, R & B funk, and even some country added into the mix.  It is eclectic, spirit-filled and really fun!  I have really been enjoying this album and it's uniqueness.  I have a lot of respect for Vineyard and I believe I will continue to love their God inspired music.  I love that this album challenges me to not box myself into one singular form or style of worship music and encourages me to broaden my horizon so to speak.

Would you like to listen to this album for yourself?  You can purchase it on itunes here or keep reading for a giveaway...

Now, onto the giveaway!  One of you will win your own down-loadable copy of this album!  Note - This giveaway is for the down-loadable version only.

What's For Dessert

Dessert Train

Check out our dessert for tonight!  The kids and I made a train this afternoon.  It is not homemade (unfortunately) but it was constructed by us (using Little Debbies!) and it was a lot of fun!  The inspiration came from a book called Candy Construction and it has some pretty amazing things you can create with candy and food!

 Making the engine

 Almost done

 Finished engine

 More cargo

 With a tanker

More cargo and another tanker completes our train!

Jumpstreet Indoor Trampoline Park

Have you heard of Jumpstreet?  It is an indoor trampoline park where it is okay to bounce off the walls.  The kids and I have not been yet but I have really been wanting to check it out.  They have locations in Denver, Phoenix, Dallas and our beloved Austin!  Each location has huge jumping areas, dodge ball on trampolines, eight individual batting cages, inflatable's, indoor practice fields, "Earthquake" - their exclusive safe, fun area for kids 7 and under, and private party rooms.  They pretty much have something for everyone!

They have a pretty sweet Father's Day special going on:  Buy the first hour and get the 2nd hour for free - and Dad's jump for free.  Check out the Austin coupon here, Dallas here, Colorado here, and Phoenix here.

Want to see a video of Jumpstreet?  Check it out here!

Father's Day Bookmarks

A friend of mine sent me a blog link for making cute bookmarks of your kids.  I took a look at it here and thought I could do that!  So, yesterday the kids and I did just that.  I am so pleased with how they turned out.  I made five bookmarks (one of each kid) for Grandpa, Puppa, and of course Daddy for this Father's Day!  I love creative gifts (especially ones that include photos).

I had the kids make poses.  Here is D in her pose.

I cut the photos out as close as possible.  I wrote the kids names and ages on the back of the bookmarks for fun.  Then I laminated them and added the tassels.

Here is D's finished bookmarks.

I love the different poses and different sizes.  I think it is pretty funny that E is the biggest one and A is the smallest.  So, what do you think?

Crawly the Butterfly

Remember when I told you that we had new pets here?  Well, Crawly did indeed become a butterfly and it was really fun to watch him grow and emerge.  Miranda sadly did not make it.  She did make a chrysalis but was never able to emerge as she should have.  Below are some photos of our experience.

 Getting our caterpillars

These guys were born May 3rd.  This is the day they arrived at our house, May 14th - tiny little things.

Crawly and Miranda on May 15th

May 21st, my how they have grown!

May 24th - Crawly was definitely eating more!

Crawly completes his chrysalis on May 28th

Miranda is a few days behind him but finishes up on May 30th - notice they are different colors

We carefully move them to the habitat on June 3rd

 Crawly emerges the next morning!

After his wings dried, he was all over the place flying around.

We released him onto the flowers we just planted out front!

Bye Crawly - we will miss you :)
