New Renuzit Sensitive Scents Review & Giveaway

You guys have seen some of my Renuzit reviews in the past: Renuzit Adjustable Cones and Renuzit Pearl Scents Air Freshener.  I wanted to share with you today the new Renuzit Sensitive Scents.  These products are designed to bring long-lasting freshness without overpowering your senses - hence the sensitive scents.  Renuzit Sensitive Scents can be experienced in multiple ways: adjustable cones (perfect for small spaces and last up to 4 weeks), universal scented oils (Renuzit's Plug-in refills universally fit in any Glade or Air Wick oil warming unit), and trigger sprays (neutralize tough odors, musky fabrics and other unpleasant smells with instant spray action).

Renuzit Sensitive Scents are available in stores now and are available in three distinct scents: pure water blossom and cucumber, pure ocean breeze, and pure white pear and lavender.

I was recently sent three different Renuzit Sensitive Scents to try out in my home.  I received The trigger spray in pure white pear and lavender, the universal scented oil in pure ocean breeze and an adjustable cone in pure water blossom and cucumber.

Renuzit Sensitive Scents adjustable cone:  I still really enjoy the Renuzit adjustable cones, and the new Sensitive Scents cone is no exception.  I have always thought that they are a great and easy way to freshen up a room.  I really appreciate that they are adjustable allowing you to choose the strength that you desire - the higher the height the greater the strength.  And I appreciate that this cone performs without overpowering.

 Trigger Spray

Renuzit Sensitive Scents trigger spray:  The trigger spray works well for whole room freshness.  It can be used to help eliminate odors in the air, fabric and even carpet (when used as directed).  Simply spray 2-3 times in the air in an average sized room, a smaller bathroom probably only needs 1-2 sprays.  It can help with pet odors, garbage odors, tobacco smoke (thank goodness we don't have this) and more.  I like having a spray option so that you can use this when needed most and in multiple spaces.  I like that the spray is nice and light and not overpowering similar to the cone.

Scented Oil

Renuzit Sensitive Scents universal scented oil:  The oil reminds me of the cone only it has to be used in an outlet.  This is probably my least favorite of the three simply for that very reason.  However, it is easy to use and if you are an oil fan you will not be disappointed.  Again, it has a nice balance to the fragrance - a balance for sensitive noses.  For safety reasons, make sure your warmer is always plugged in upright.

Renuzit Pearl Scents Air Freshener With Style Review & Giveaway

You are most likely familiar or have heard the name Renuzit but have you seen their new Pearl Scents?  They were designed to not only give your home a pleasing aroma but add a depth of beauty as well.  They can accent or highlight your home decor along with providing long-lasting freshness.  Renuzit Pearl Scents are available in several aromas including Blue Sky Breeze, Serenity, Sparkling Rain, Tranquil and Seductive Pineapple.  Each fragrance is associated with a different color scheme.

I received Renuzit's Pearl Scents in Blue Sky Breeze to review.  This particular Renuzit Pearl Scents is bright blue in color and comes in a blue accent container.  I cannot explain the aroma per se other than it smells clean and fresh.

I have been experimenting with the location of my new Renuzit Pearl Scents.  I first started with it in my bathroom because it really matches the decor in there well.  I have a light blue basket that sits above my toilet and the shower curtain is a multi-colored pattern that contains blue within it.  And for obvious reasons, a bathroom can always use a little freshening up!

 I think I like it the best here on my mantel because it really adds that pop of color.

It also looks good in my living room in several places: on my bar, fireplace, and entertainment armoire.  I have long, dark blue curtains on our back French doors so the lighter blue from my Renuzit matches well and livens up the room.

Major, major pluses for me include that you do not need electricity plugs or flames to use Renuzit Pearl Scents.  You simply open the jar and set it down, easy peasy!  And the lid is a must, especially with children around.  Renuzit also did a very nice job on the containers themselves, they really are charming and make a good accent to highlight home decor.  While I have yet to try every one I really like the color options and aromas available. 

I am introducing something new in most of my reviews from now on when applicable that I will refer to as KISS (Kathryn's Improvement Suggestion/S).  How would I improve Renuzit Pearl Scents?  I would love to have the ability to close my Renuzit Pearl Scents or the ability to have some sort of control in place.  My Renuzit Pearl Scents does a great job of releasing aroma into the desired area but after awhile I found that I could probably close it and still have the desired effect; thus, it didn't need to be "on" all the time.  When I first opened my Renuzit Pearl Scents it was a bit too strong for me but after a day or two it was great.  Maybe some sort of open close system on the lid would be a simple enough solution.  This would allow for the jar itself to remain in the desired location and continue to accent particular color schemes and rooms throughout one's home.  Even more ideal though would be a control allowing one to determine the desired strength during use.  Just a thought.

5 Tips for Helping Children Build Good Hand Washing Skills + Dial Review/Giveaway

I love that Dial Baby Body and Hair Wash is tear free so I don't have to worry about it irritating his eyes when we wash his hair.  Baby F had no problem when I dumped the bucket of water on his head to rinse off the wash.  He was so busy playing, he barely noticed it!  This wash is fragrance free so it doesn't have a strong odor other than clean freshness.  

And what about Dial Kids Foaming hand wash.  It too was developed with Pediatric dermatologists, is hypoallergenic, has no artificial dyes or parabens and is pH balanced.

The formula is gentle on hands and skin and helps make hand washing fun for all ages!  This got me thinking, how do you help your children develop and maintain good hand washing skills?  See my tips below.  And make sure you enter the giveaway as well.

5 Tips for Helping Children Build Good Hand Washing Skills

1. Have a good set up. 

Make sure that your child can get to the sink and have soap readily available.  Have a step stool - necessary if your youngest child cannot reach the faucet handles.  We have one available in/near both of our bathrooms and sinks.  Make sure the child knows how to turn the faucet on and off.  If these basic steps are overlooked it may not be possible for younger children to actually wash their hands without assistance and develop poor habits, like not always washing their hands when it is needed.

2.  Practice with them.

Have a system and practice it with them.  Tell them to rinse their hands, soap them up on both sides, scrub and then rinse and dry.  Whatever you choose, make sure they know what the system is.  My kids also know to always wash their hands after they use the bathroom and before they eat.  We also wash our hands after playing outside as a general rule.

3.  Make it fun.

Have them sing or hum a song.  We do this with teeth brushing as well.  It helps my children brush longer, the same applies for hand washing.  Our favorite is the ABC's.  You can also reward children when they are first learning if needed.

4.  Have good hand washing skills yourself.

If your children or other kids see you exhibiting good hand washing skills they will be more likely to do what they see.

5.  Explain to them why we wash our hands in the first place. 

Share with your children about germs and staying healthy.  If they understand why you are asking them to wash their hands, they will be more likely to do it.

Dial Miracle Oil Hand Soap Review & Giveaway

As the Mom of six children, pet owner, wanna-be gardener, baker, cooking experimenter, homeschool teacher - I use my hands a lot!  In fact, you probably use your hands more than you realize.  And this leads to frequent hand washing.  It seems as though I am always reminding my little ones to wash their hands - good hygiene! 

Remember my recent post on Dial's new Miracle Oil Body Wash?  Well, I have also been using the new Dial Miracle Oil Liquid Hand Soap.  When you wash your hands often, they can become dry and chapped.  This is not the case with Dial's Miracle Oil hand soap.  This soap really helps clean and hydrate your hands - a major plus for me!  I think the fact that the Miracle oil is infused with Marula Oil and that it uses Micro Oil technology really helps moisturize your hands with each wash, instead of drying them out with frequent washings.

Dial has a new Boutique Collection of Hand Soap.  I was sent the newest member of the collection, Dial's Sugar Cane Husk Scrub Hand Soap which is available in stores right now.  The scent is subtle and clean inspired by freshly cut Sugar Cane.  This soap is formulated with gently micro-scrubbers that cleanse deeply while moisturizing and soothing skin.  Other scents in this collection include coconut lime verbena, water blossoms, and yellow raspberry and black sugar.

I like this hand soap a lot.  The scent is not overpowering and it does a great job cleaning and cleansing my hands, they are clean and smooth!

New Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash & Giveaway

I have another Dial body wash to tell you about, Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash.  The new miracle oil body wash is infused with caring Marula oil for beautifully, soft skin.  This new body wash is formulated with Micro Oil Technology for a luxurious, clean-rinsing lather that leaves skin feeling clean, soft and smooth.  I have been using it for the last month and I really like it.  My skin not only feels soft and clean but above all moisturized.  I think this is especially noticeable in the winter.  At a time of the year when my skin is normally at its driest and sometimes cracked I find it to be moisturized and soft - I cannot help but think this body wash has something to do with it!
