New Purex plus Clorox 2 Detergent Review & Giveaway

Have you heard of the new Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent?  It combines the bright clean of Purex with an extra powerful boost of Clorox 2 stain fighters.

Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent contains 3 stain-fighting enzymes to remove 100 stains including chocolate, tomato sauce, grass, blood, ice cream and BBQ sauce just to name a few.  It is safe for colors, and bleach free.  It also comes in two fragrances - Original Fresh and Sunny Linen.

As a mom of six young children and owner of both a dog and a cat, I see my fair share of stains in our home and on our clothes.  Stains that I tend to see on a regular basis include sweat stains, grass stains, dirt/mud stains, spaghetti night stains, artwork (paint, colors, etc.), and grease (when David works on the car).

With all the rain paired with the fact that it is baseball season, I tend to be tackling grass, dirt, and/or mud every few days with C's uniform.  In the next week he has one practice and 4 games scheduled - that can be a lot of washing.  C's team motto is have fun, play hard and get dirty!

My Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent in Sunny Linen fragrance.

Thankfully, Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent doesn't let me down when it comes to these stains.

Here you can see one side of C's baseball pants after a game with some mud/dirt stains and a grass stain along the bottom.

And here are his pants after being cleaned with Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent.

Other side

Stains that I tend to see on occasion but not regularly include sicknesses (vomiting) and even accidents (bed wetting and/or feline accidents as our cat ages).  Last week C was diagnosed with an ear infection and he couldn't seem to keep anything down.  E went to bed one night forgetting to put on her pull-up and woke up to a wet bed.  Molly, our cat, found a blanket on the floor and decided not to walk to the litter box.  Yes, thankfully these scenarios aren't common around here but I think many people can relate to one or all of them.

I will spare you photos of laundry with vomit and accidents on them but I will tell you that Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent worked in these tough situations as well.  Not only did our laundry, blankets and bedding come out clean but they were smelling fresh - which in these situations sometimes is tricky.  What are your toughest stains that you deal with on a regular basis?

Here is a stain fighting tip for the week:  pre-treat tough stains by rubbing some Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent into the fabric and letting it sit for 5 minutes before washing.

Mr. Sketch sampling through Crowdtap

Our Sampling

The kids and I received a fun package of Mr. Sketch scented markers through a recent Crowdtap sampling.  The variety of scents include watermelon (pink), cherry (red), orange (orange), banana (yellow), mint (green), fruit punch (light blue), blueberry (blue), grape (purple), cinnamon (brown) and licorice (black).  I loved giving these markers to the kids and seeing their creativity come to life.

Here you can see the scents.

Here you can see B working on a creation.

I couldn't believe E's creativity.  It's hard to remember she is only 4!

There are so many things I love about these markers!  The scents are fun and amazing.   My kids love the scents while they are creating masterpieces.  The colors are vibrant (as you can see from the pictures above) and long lasting.  They can be used to make 3 different widths for extra creativity and variety - you can create thin lines or broad lines.  And my favorite, they are washable!!  As a Mom of six kids I absolutely adore products that are fun and less mess.

Disclosure:  This post was sponsored by Mr. Sketch as part of a sampling activation for Crowdtap. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.
