Region Band

B and C both tried out for Region Band this year and made it!  They both made 6th chair, which I thought was funny.  Their concert was over the weekend in Houston and David was able to take them.  Thankfully, he took videos so I was able to watch their performance afterwards.  They did so great and I'm so proud of them!

A, B and C had their final band concert for this semester last night.  They did a great job and all 3 of them came home with multiple awards 💖.  We are so proud of them.

Solo and Ensemble

I'm so proud of these three!  They all participated in Solo and Ensemble over the weekend and they all received First Divisions (the highest!).  I should also note that B is officially taller than A now but A is wearing 2 inch heels.  Way to go kiddos.

CYBA Holiday Band Concert 2019

Last night, the oldest 3 kiddos had their holiday band concert.  Several friends were able to attend and support them - that was so special!  Everyone did great.  For those that don't know, A plays the flute in Advanced Band and Wind Ensemble, B plays the trumpet in Advanced Band and Wind Ensemble and C plays percussion in Advanced Band.  However, C ended up playing in all 3 bands.  One of the percussionist in beginning band was sick so C sightread the music and helped out - I was so impressed!  He also helped with the first piece in the Wind Ensemble.  All 3 bands did well and it was a fun concert.

CYBA Spring Band Concert 2019

B, C, and A after Band Concert

A, B and C had their Spring band concert last night.  It was fun to hear them play and watch them perform.  C finished his first year as a percussionist and was awarded the Outstanding Musician award for his Beginner Homeschool Band class.  A (on flute) and B (on trumpet) both performed in the Advanced Band and Wind Ensemble (this was B's first time in the Wind Ensemble and she did great).  A was awarded the Outstanding Musician award for her Advanced Homeschool Band class.  I'm so proud of these three!

One of the highlights of the concert was when a T-Rex showed up to direct Jurassic Park.  It was very funny and G was super excited to see "the dinosaur."
