Operation Christmas Child Box Ideas

 

Every year the kids enjoy picking out items for our Operation Christmas Child Boxes, we have done it for many years.  It's a fun activity the kids enjoy coming up with new gift ideas and ways to bless others during the holiday season.  This year we filled up 4 boxes, 2 for girls and 2 for boys.

D chose a girl age 10-14 and above you can see what we put in her box - a few journals, markers, toothbrush, washcloths, bandages, tissues, socks, several sets of bracelets, key chain, compact mirror, comb, calculator, mini flashlight with batteries, hair ties, scrunchies and clips, sunglasses and a fun balancing bird.

 E also chose a girl age 10-14 and above you can see what we put in her box (very similar to D's box) - a large pink journal, markers, toothbrush, washcloths, bandages, tissues, watermelon socks, bracelets, necklace, key chain, compact mirror, comb, calculator, mini flashlight with batteries, hair ties and clips, sunglasses and a fun balancing bird.

 

F and G both chose a boy age 5-9 and above you can see what we put in their boxes (basically the same things) - coloring book, notepad, stickers, crayons, dominoes, toothbrush, bandages, tissues, washcloths, toy car, spinner, mini flashlight with batteries, sunglasses and a fun balancing bird.

Operation Christmas Child Box Ideas

We are participating in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child again this year through our church!  The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide children around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, school supplies and more as a means of reaching children in their communities with the Good News of Christ.  They are shipped all over the world.

Our Boxes this year

This year we decided to fill 3 boxes - one for a young boy 2-4, a young girl 5-9, and an older boy 10-14.  The kids had a fun time picking out items for our boxes and we hope that these items really bless those that receive them!

 

Here's our younger boys box.

It includes crayons and a sharpener, a fun notepad, a squishy tiger, stickers, a comb, a duck washcloth, toothbrushes, colorful snakes, tissues, sunglasses, a small car, colorful bendable tubes and a music recorder.

It includes colored pencils and a sharpener, a fun notepad, stickers, a hairbrush, barrettes, hair ties, toothbrush, a squishy unicorn, a unicorn necklace, tissues, sunglasses, a small purse, fun sicks, a fun washcloth, and a cat squishmallow.

It includes crayons and a sharpener, fun notepads, a squishy sloth, mechanical pencils, a comb, a washcloth, toothbrush, a brain puzzle, tissues, sunglasses, a calculator, and a soccer ball with pump.

We had a really fun time packing these boxes this year!

We have been filling Operation Christmas Child Boxes for many years.  It's a fun activity for our whole family to get involved in and we love coming up with new gift ideas and ways to bless others during the holiday season.  This year each of the kids filled up a box and we dropped off 7 boxes this weekend at our church for distribution!  Let me show you what we put in them.

 

B chose a girl age 2-4 and above you can see what we put in her box - stickers, paper pad, jumbo crayons, toothbrush, miniature doll, straw cup with washcloths inside, bandages, tissues, socks, bracelets, headband, hairbrush, stuffed bunny and baby doll.

E chose a girl age 5-9 and above you can see what we put in her box - a sticker book activity set, strawberry squishy, journal, colored pencils, toothbrushes, hair ties that look like a lollipop, flashlight, hairbrush, washcloth, tissues, bandages, small toy and a plush cat.

D also chose a girl age 5-9 and above you can see what we put in her box - a small journal, colored pencils, a marker set with activity book, a magic marker set, hair ties that look like a lollipop, flashlight, hairbrush, toothbrushes, washcloth, tissues, squishy key chain, socks, purple barrette, unicorn ball plush and a purple unicorn plush.
