C's PEZ Themed Birthday Party

C's PEZ Cake

Today we had C's 12th birthday party, PEZ theme!  It was a lot of fun.  He had a chocolate cake in the shape of a PEZ candy roll with three choices of Blue Bell ice cream.  We served BBQ chips (C's favorite), fruit, veggies, pizza and PEZ candy.  We also learned some fun PEZ trivia.  For example, did you know that PEZ was first introduced in 1927 as a breath mint for adults in Vienna, Austria?  Also, the first PEZ dispenser was invented by Oscar Uxa in 1948.  You can find even more fun facts about PEZ on their website.  Enjoy the photos!

C with his most up to date PEZ Shelf

You might remember my post when David and C made a PEZ shelf.  He has steadily been collecting more and more PEZ.  We are currently preparing for C's upcoming PEZ birthday party (which I'm super excited about) and I have found a lot of PEZ items on Amazon.  There is a plethora.  I cannot believe how many PEZ dispensers there are and I probably haven't even uncovered half of them.  Check out some of the goodies I found.

I am a huge fan of the President sets.  C has 1 of these sets.

The crayola PEZ dispensers are a nice addition.

Multiple packs like this would be great for party favors or specific themed parties.

And of course, a PEZ party needs PEZ candy.

DIY PEZ Dispenser Shelf

C is a collector.  This boy has been collecting things since he was a tot.  Currently he collects rocks, smashed pennies/quarters, Star Wars ships, mini erasers and PEZ dispensers.  He actually has quite the collection of PEZ.  When we moved he didn't really have a place to put everything.  He had boxes all over.

Over the holiday break David and C built a PEZ dispenser holder and it's awesome.  It is a fairly simple design.  Basically shelves with dowels.

Everyone is super happy with it, especially C - who now has a great place to display his PEZ and his ships (on top).  This is actually great for me because I can never remember which dispensers he already has but now I can see them - woohoo!  Do your kids collect anything?  I'd love to hear what.
