T-shirt Necklaces & Lassos

The kiddos and I decided to make t-shirt necklaces, a friend told me about it at my bookclub.  I had an old purple shirt and we talked about ways we could recycle it and then we went to work!

The materials - seriously, this is all you need!

The hardest part - cut the bottom of the shirt off.

After the hem is off, start cutting your strips.  And as you will see, they do not have to be perfect.

A finished strip.

Now, stretch, stretch & stretch some more.  The strip will loop up on itself.

B stretching hers.

You can wear them as long necklaces or layer them.  D has hers layered above.  The possibilities and colors are endless.  And the whole project took less than 10 minutes.

 A in her finished necklace!

C made his into a lasso, which he used all day long to rope chairs and other various objects around our house, pretty cool C!

Even Daddy had some fun teaching A how to make things using her new craft.
