Timberdoodle's Animals and Their Homes Review

I have a fun product to share with you today from Timberdoodle, Animals and Their Homes.  This kit has six different types of creative activities for your child on the theme of animals and their homes.  Animals and Their Homes is manufactured by Djeco and is geared for children ages 3-6 years old or PreK - 1st Grade.  G has been using it as part of his Art for 1st grade and he has really been enjoying it!

What's included in our kit?

As previously mentioned, there are six different projects that all center around the topic of animals.  All the supplies needed for each project is included and I really appreciate that!  There is also a picture instructional booklet that works as a step-by-step guide for each of the activities.

Activity 1

Materials needed for the first activity

In this activity, G got to color two cats - a boy cat and a girl cat.  He then got to embellish his coloring pages with included stickers.  He really likes the reversible grip crayons.

And the second cat after completion

Activity 2

Materials needed for the second activity

In this activity, G got to punch out pieces and glue them onto his craft board to create a collage of a circus puppy.  He followed the picture instructions for which pieces to glue first and followed it up with adding googly eyes and puff balls.

Activity 3

Materials needed for the third activity

In this activity, G got to create two mosaics of a fish and a turtle using stickers.

G is halfway through this kit and as you can see he is really enjoying it.  I really like that he has no issues doing the activities independently.  Animals and Their Homes is currently included in Timberdoodle's Kindergarten curriculum kit and we definitely recommend it.

Disclosure:  Huge shout out to Timberdoodle for selecting me as a Timberdoodle Blogger.  I received Animals and Their Homes in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.

Mini-Theater Kit from STEAM4KIDZ Review

Disclosure:  I received this complimentary product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW.

STEAM4KIDZ

I was so pumped to be selected to receive the Mini-Theater Kit from STEAM4KIDZ for E to complete!  This specific kit is geared for kids ages 6-12 to complete independently.  E (age 10) did great with it!

Our Kit

I love that there was information for both the adult and the child!

A peek inside our kit

I'm so pleased with the organization of our kit!  Everything was separated into bags by projects and it was so well laid out and organized, E was able to find everything easily.  All the materials needed to complete the projects were included in out kit and kids have access to step-by-step videos for each project and these were amazing!

This Mini-Theater kit has various projects for kids to work through.

  • They will build a model Proscenium Theater.
  • Create a 3 color light box to control colors and mood within their theater.
  • Create scenes for their theater.
  • Cut out animal characters for each scene.
  • And last but not least, create plays using their characters and scenes!

And of course, they are learning about theater all along the way.  I love that this kit is both hands-on and educational.

E finished the basic theater, fly bars and stands.

Creating the light box was next.  Above you can see the materials and video.

First the outer box was constructed.

Then the wires were stripped and the proper connections were made.  The video explaining this and demonstrating it was fabulous.  I think it really helps kids see and understand the process.

It's so fun that she can create different characters and scenes and even different moods (with the light box) for her theater.  She is now working on her next script and I cannot wait to see her creation!

If you are looking for a fun and educational hands-on project kit for your child, I cannot recommend the Mini-Theater Kit from STEAMKIDZ enough.  It is a great addition to our homeschool and I am so pleased we received it!

B and D's Craft Birthday Party Bash

One of the birthday girls!  B is now 14.

B and D had their joint birthday party over the weekend, it was craft themed.  We had stations set up to paint a mini canvas, put together your own ornament, and decorate cookies.  We also had a fun, little photo booth.  The girls had an amazing turn out and I think everyone had a blast.  Enjoy the photos!

 Cheese and crackers

Veggies and hummus

Since we had the party during dinnertime, we also had pizza delivered.  It was devoured.

 B's Cake - there are 14 different colors as she turned 14 {B's cake was a layered rainbow cake and each layer was a different flavor}

We had such a great time celebrating the girls and it reminded me how much our family is truly loved.  I'm so thankful for all of our family and friends.  Community is so important y'all!
