Timberdoodle's Mad Mattr Review

I have a unique Timberdoodle item to share with you today, Mad Mattr!  Mad Mattr is made in Sweden and has been hugely popular in Europe and now the US.  What is it?  It is a stretchable, dough-like compound that can be molded and shaped into countless creations.  It's silky and soft when touched and it never dries out!

Mad Mattr is especially great for children who have or may have allergies as it is non-toxic and wheat free, gluten-free, casein free an odor free.  It is designed for ages 3 and older and is available in six bold colors - red, pink, purple, blue, green and teal and comes in 10 oz pouches.  Everyone in my family is enjoying it regardless of age!  Mad Mattr stretches, molds, flows, builds...you can even cut it!

We have green Mad Mattr as well as the Brick Maker.

The Brick Maker is pretty awesome.  It basically makes building bricks out of Mad Mattr.

These bricks can be used to build things and stack onto each other just as plastic bricks do.

The bricks can be squashed as well.

Mad Mattr takes imprints really well, keeping the tiniest of details.

Here you can see train track detail.

It can be molded into many shapes and creations.  You can use cups or other containers to obtain various shapes as well as your hands.

It rolls easily in your palms to form balls.

The texture is hard to explain but it is quite soft and silky.  It is quite therapeutic and fun to play with.

Another huge plus is that Mad Mattr is easy to clean up as it doesn't stain and won't stick to carpet, furniture, clothes or books.  It easily sticks to itself so you can gather up the bits and pieces from your creative space.  Mad Mattr comes in a resealable plastic pouch which makes storage convenient.

You can purchase individual colors from Timberdoodle at $12.50 each or you can buy a set of 6 with every color for a discounted $65.  You can also buy a Builder Pack that includes a Brick Maker mold along with your choice of purple, teal, blue or green Mad Mattr for $16.99.  While you don't have to have the Brick Maker mold, it is a lot of fun to use and I'm glad we have it.

Mad Mattr is such a great addition it can be found within Timberdoodle's PreK-2nd Grade Curriculum Kits.  This would be a great addition to your own homeschool resources and would be awesome to use in a sensory bin or with kinesthetic and tactile learners.  It's hugely fun to play with.  Try it yourself and see!

Disclosure:  Huge shout out to Timberdoodle for selecting me as a Timberdoodle Blogger.  Timberdoodle sent my family Mad Mattr for a discounted price in exchange for our honest review.  All opinions are my own.

This does look very cool. I keep putting into my shopping cart and then taking it out. Do you think one pack would be enough to keep a child amused?

Kristen Yes! 10 oz is more than it sounds like. This stuff is crazy cool. It's such a weird and different texture but so fun to play with. Now, of course if you could get several packs in different colors that would be fun too but you can definitely start with one. Let me know if you have any other questions!
