Dumbo Releases March 29th

I'm so excited for the release of Disney's Dumbo!  The all-new grand live-action adventure movie expands on the beloved classic story that celebrates differences.  In Dumbo, family is treasured and dreams really take flight!

Me with the movie poster

Synopsis:  In this film, Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus.  But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland.  Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.  Dumbo soars into theaters on March 29th.

This release makes me wonder what I would do If I joined the circus.  I think I would definitely want to care for animals like Dumbo and since I used to be full-time veterinary technician, I think I would be pretty good at it!  I'm more of a backstage kind of person (not center stage) and I would love to help take care of some of the most amazing animals.  Doesn't that sound fun?

Find out more about Dumbo and check out the trailer below.

A Wrinkle In Time Releases in Theaters Today, March 9th

If you haven't heard, A Wrinkle In Time arrives in theaters today, March 9th!  This was one of my absolute favorite books growing up so I am excited to see how the movie compares.  I'm a little nervous to see what adaptations are made but hopefully the heart of this book (and series) is conveyed.  I remember being blown away by the concept of a tesseract so it will be fun to see how it is portrayed on the big screen.

Synopsis of Wrinkle In Time:  From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney's "A Wrinkle In Time," an epic adventure based on Madeleine L'Engle's timeless classic that takes and audience across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light, good versus evil, and ultimately, the triumph of love.  The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Oprah, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Storm Reid as "Meg Murry."

B and D's Disney Themed Birthday Party

We celebrated D's 8th and B's 12th Birthdays last weekend with a general Disney themed party.  Our kids have been so excited to talk all about Disney characters ever since we returned from our epic September trip which included a visit to Disneyland so the girls were in agreement that they wanted a Disney party!  I still need to blog about that trip because it was outrageously fun!  Enjoy the party photos and Happy Birthday girls - we love our December babies!

D's strawberry flavored Dory cake

My parents bought out a flower store so there were so many amazing fresh flowers throughout the party!

I purchased a bag of party props and they were so much fun to take pictures with.

D loved the ruby red lips.

And my favorite group shot of the party.  You should zoom in on this one - it's awesome!

E's Minnie Mouse Party

Miss E the day before her birthday.

E turned 3 at the beginning of this month and I turned 37 a few days ago so collectively we are now 40!  E knew that she wanted a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party and she and I had a lot of fun planning it.  We really didn't do a ton but I made sure to serve some of her favorite snacks and A and B came up with a fun game of Pin the Bow on Minnie!  I used serving dishes to make Mickey/Minnie displays and I think they turned out well.

All the kids right before the party in their best Minnie/Mickey attire.

 E's cake

Inside the cake, there were polka dots.

These Minnie Mouse Oreos were a hit with all ages!

 My Oreo display.

Rice Krispies Minnies, these were a bit hard to cut.

 chips, salsa and guacamole

fruit display

I bought the Mickey cheese already cut and served it with crackers.

Mickey F!  A and B made him these cute homemade ears and I adore him in them.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and if you are having a Minnie themed party I hope this inspires you!
