More Family Fun

A freind gave me some ripe bananas over the weekend.  Unfortunatley they were a little too ripe but that was okay because I had my own to use up.

Look what I made.  Yummy banana bread, kind of wish it was pumpkin!  It didn't last a day in the house.  Guess the kiddos liked it :)

A close up of E.  She is changing so fast.  I love her expressions.

Watching babies sleep is so much fun.  I am not sure how she managed to get her pacifier all the way over to her ear.

Etsy Spotlight: Helen's Homemades

Look at these adorable earrings that Helen from Helen's Homemade Creations sent me.

I put the earrings on a piece of felt so they would be more visible.  This photo does not do them justice but I think you get an idea of the design.

They look great with white!  I received several compliments the first time I wore them :)

I love the colors: pink, purple and white.  The earrings have pink, purple and white bead clusters that hang down with a flower bell on fish hooks.  I really like the design, Helen's own creation.  These earrings are very versatile and go with a lot of color options - pretty much most of my wardrobe!  The other really nice thing is that they don't irritate my ears - a big plus in my book!

Check out a few of the other goodies in Helen's etsy shop

Cream faux pearl and blue beaded earrings

And not only are there other great earrings, she also makes phone charms!

I love this green and blue beaded phone charm.

In short, if you love etsy as much as I do, you really should check out Helen's shop.  Let me know what you find and while you are there add her to your favorite shops!  Oh, and did I mention she is super nice and has great communication - well she is and she does!  And everything is very reasonably priced.  You can also visit her facebook page here.  Not only does she have her own etsy shop but she has a blog you can follow as well.  Thanks Helen!!

Upgrade

Those of you who know me, know that we use "the envelope system" for purchases.  It is super helpful for lots of reasons and it really helps you stay within your budget because when it is gone, it is really gone.  I recently made an upgrade.  After over 8 years of using this
My before system, nothing wrong with it, very practical

I have now switched to this

Aren't they super cute?  I think so.

I love them!

And just for fun, tickling D!

I love this girl :)

Fall Festival Fun

Last Friday we drove out to Hutto for a fall festival at the library and a "fantastic" performance by our uncle Kent, the magician.

Here's the proof.  All the pictures I took of the live performance were a little blurry - he moves so fast and it is hard to capture magic on film :)

A (Rapunzel) making her craft pumpkin.

D (Texans Cheerleader) chose to make a mask.

C (Spiderman) and B (Hello Kitty) working hard on their crafts.

Grandma and Grandpa came over the weekend for a visit.  E is smiling at them.

First time for Grandpa to meet E.

And Last night we went to a fall festival at a church in Round Rock.  We had so much fun.  They had bouncy houses, games, candy, snocones, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, a silent auction and lots of fun!

The girls talked me into being Pocahontas.

This time B went as tea party Barbie.

Look at D's boots - she loves them!

And C went at Thomas the Train.  Again (like last year) they had the donut on the string game.  C did it this go around!

 B having her turn.

E went as an x-ray.  Her skeleton sleeper was glow in the dark!

And on another note, look what my neighbor gave me the other day.  Despite the drought, her garden is full of these peppers.  I love peppers and anything hot!  You know those contests, who can eat the hottest things - I think I could win - seriously!  Growing up I think my Dad could beat me but I think I can take him these days (no offense Grandpa).

So, I chopped them.  Now I am looking for a good recipe.  Any ideas?
