Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers For Every Day Review & Giveaway

 *** Giveaway Now Closed ***

Congratulations to Kathy M!

I wanted to tell you about a new book, Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers for Every Day!  This is a sweet children's prayer board book.  The pages are sturdy for little hands and easy for them to flip.

E loves the pictures!

The book follows Alex and Zoe (twins) as they go about their day from waking up to going to bed and much more in between!   Included are prayers for morning, prayers of praise, prayers of thanks, prayers for mealtimes, prayers for others, prayers for help, prayers for guidance, prayers for forgiveness, prayers for comfort, and prayers for bedtime.  I love that it shows children at a young age that there are numerous ways to pray and talk to God.

I love the sweet look on D's face watching E!

 C reading with E.

D was happy to have some time looking at the prayer book by herself.

A and B had no problem reading it (3rd and 1st grade).

This prayer book is a definite keeper for our bookshelf.  The photos are relevant, colorful, fun and engaging.  And the prayers themselves are great.  I love that they are all original and that they rhyme.  My kids get a kick out of rhyming books (especially the youngest) so this is always fun.

Read more about this book below and be sure and enter the giveaway!

About the Book

Little Angels Prayers for Every Day features more than 50 simple rhyming prayers that cover a typical day and the typical worries of a young child.  From waking in the morning to going to sleep at night, from thanking God for a meal to praying for His comfort when afraid, the prayers here will help little ones to see that any moment is a good moment to talk to God.  Relevant Bible verses are scattered throughout the book as well!

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends Review & Giveaway

 *** Giveaway Now Closed ***

Congratulations to Jessica, Vicki and Betty!

I have a new cereal to tell you about, Post Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends!  Mango flavored flakes combine with real coconut shavings and coconut flavored granola clusters so you can take your taste buds to the tropics!

Here is a bit of nutritional info about it: 10g whole grain, 120 calories, 6g sugar, 9 essential vitamins and minerals including 60% daily value of iron, 4 wholesome grains, and Heart Healthy.

Going, going, almost gone!

This cereal is truly unique.  It has an extremely different flavor than I have ever tasted in a cereal (and I have eaten a lot of cereal in my day).  I personally found the mango flavor to be much stronger than the coconut flavor (the coconut was much more subtle - at least to my taste buds!) and this was a good thing for me as I much prefer mango flavorings to coconut.  This cereal also grew on me.  I liked it even better the second time I had it :).  David has been enjoying it every morning.  We are both impressed that it has a sweetness to it without having a super high sugar content (I bet that is the mango working here).

VeggieTales The Little House That Stood Review & Giveaway

 *** Giveaway Now Closed ***

Congratulations to Dealsfan32!

Have you heard of VeggieTales?  If you haven't I would seriously be surprised!  Just in case that is you, VeggieTales is a series of computer animated films that convey Christian ideals through stories using vegetables.  The vegetable gang includes Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber (also plays LarryBoy), Junior Asparagus, and many more!  We are huge VeggieTales fans.  I am not sure how many DVDs we own but let's just say it is a lot!

Tuesday, March 5 is the release date for the new VeggieTales - The Little House That Stood.  I was privileged to receive a copy for review.  We sat down and watched this together as a family.  The kids of course loved it!

This episode is definitely good, clean, children's entertainment.  I'm sure we'll be watching it again.  It seems to me that since VeggieTales changed ownership, they have not been as firmly tied to illustrating actual biblical stories; this show for example tells a story based on Christian morality, and puts a Bible verse at the end.  It's fine, it just doesn't seem as strong to me as the old school episodes.  I hope you will enjoy it all the same as we did.

If you are looking for safe, go-to entertainment teaching good values for your kids, this video is in.

Read more about this movie below (plot summary) and be sure and enter the giveaway!

About The Little House That Stood

When the Three Little Pigs roll into Cabbageville looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue!  Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation - following the wise plans from the Master Builder's Handbook!  Will the Little Piggies make the right choices when it comes to building their houses - and their lives - on solid ground?  Find out in this parable that shows kids when they follow God's blueprints, then can stand strong when the storms come!

Congratulations to Maggie, Amanda and The Vegan!

I love being a Purex Insider!  It allows me to partner with so many different companies and I am truly blessed to be a part of it.  Thanks Purex for all that you do :).  My latest partnership is with Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Bath & Kitchen Cleanser.  I have been trying to keep my house less cluttered and cleaner.  Some days are better than others but I suppose that is life.  One area that I have been working harder on is my kitchen.  I really want my kitchen sink to be cleaner all the time more.  This means free of dishes and a clean sink.  What a great way to try out my new Soft Scrub Total All Purpose.

My very dirty sink.  You can see that it is free of dishes but definitely not clean.

Well, let's put Soft Scrub to the test.  I used lemon scent.  I enjoy cleaning with lemon products as I am a huge lemon fan!
