Coding for Kids Annual Membership from Simply Coding Review

{Disclaimer:  I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review.  I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.}

My older kids have some experience with coding so I was thrilled to receive a Coding for Kids Annual Membership for them from Simply Coding to use in our homeschool this year!  Our annual membership gives A, B and C unlimited access to their homeschool computer coding courses for an entire year.  We have been a little slower to implement this into our weekly homeschool for all three of them but C has started it and is really enjoying it!

Course Pathway

Course Pathway extended

Simple Coding has tons of fun, interactive courses created specifically for students ages 11-18.  Above you can see the course pathway which includes Just For Fun: Minecraft Mods in Java, Beginner: JavaScript Game Design, Beginner: Intro To Web Development, Intermediate: Responsive Web Development, Intermediate: Python Multiplayer Adventures, Intermediate: JavaScript Tower Defense, Intermediate: Intro To Java, Advanced: Virtual Reality and 3D Game Design, and Advanced: Android Apps in Java.  That's a lot!

C's Dashboard

C is currently working through the Beginner: Intro to Web Development or Websites which is designed for students 11+ and assumes no prior coding knowledge.  He is creating his very first website using HTML and CSS and it is exciting to see.  This course is self-directed and has auto-graded quizzes and tests.  Students will need a program editor on their computer to complete the coding portion, C is using SciTE on ours.

Above you can see the lesson pathway and video instruction (online tutorials) for this course.  Each lesson has step-by-step activities with video reviews.

C's first (bare-bones) website!

Upon completing this course, C will be able to upload his finalized website live on the web if he chooses.  I really appreciate that he will learn the coding, HTML tags, links, images, inline styling, and external style sheets.

If you are looking for self guided computer courses for your students, Simply Coding is a great option and offers a variety.  I'm excited for A and B to join C in increasing their computer programming knowledge this year with Simply Coding!
