Lilla Rose Flexi Clip Review & Giveaway

*** Giveaway Now Closed ***
Congratulations to Darlene!

Have you heard of Lilla Rose?  They offer a variety of beautiful and well made hair clips, bobby pins, and more.  The Lilla Rose product line centers around unique, functional, and well made hair jewelry.  From their flagship Flexi Hair Clip, they have expanded to Hair Sticks, Orings, Hairbands, and Bobby Pins. From there they rounded the line out with complimentarily designed You-Pins, Badge Holders, Necklaces, and Earrings.  I have been blessed to work with a consultant named Sarah.  Sarah is super helpful and can answer any questions you may have concerning Lilla Rose and their awesome products.

Love, love, love their flexi clips!

Check out the Flexi of the month!

I was blessed to receive the above flexi clip!
Antique brass princess tiara with etched daisy beads in a large.

The first time I did a tails up.  I like it.  And it was so easy to do!!  Love that they have some short videos that you can watch so you know what you are doing :)

And I must mention that I have super thick hair.  It is not uncommon for me to consistently break pony tails.  I was amazed at how well this clip holds up my super thick hair!  And I am excited that these products work on thin hair as well because all 4 of my daughters right now have baby fine hair.

And I made a video of myself.  The below video is the second time I put my hair in the flexi clip.  It's not the best video and I stumble a bit but you can see how truly easy it is and now I can pretty much put my hair up in less than 20 seconds...talk about fast.

Now, onto the giveaway!  Sarah has generously offered a Flexi Clip (up to $15 value) for one of you!  Yes, that's right!  One of you will win your very own Flexi Clip, how awesome is that?

Mandatory Entry:  Visit Sarah's Lilla Rose website and choose your favorite Flexi Clip, that's it!  Please be sure and leave your email so I can contact you if you win!  Special Note: In order to win you must be a new Lilla Rose customer (or at least one who has never received a free flexi clip before).

Book Review: God Gave Us Two

God Gave Us Two by Lisa Tawn Bergren and illustrated by Laura J. Bryant is cute.  The story is about adding a new baby to your family.

(SPOILER ALERT: or in this case twins - you learn at the end.  Although if you've read Bergren's other "God Gave Us .." books, you already know Little Cub's
family.)

In essence, it is about Little Cub becoming a big sister.  Little Cub is trying to understand why her parents "need a new baby" and they answer that they do not need a new baby but that they want one and what a blessing it is.  Little Cub also questions sending the baby back if she does not like them or moving out if the baby cries too much.  Her parents reassure her that although there will be changes her position in the family is secure.

Mama and Papa encourage Little Cub with fun things she will be able to do with the baby when he/she arrives like playing, helping them with their manners, and making snow angels just to name a few.  I really like that Mama and Papa do not know the gender of their new addition as I do not peek either.

This cute story also addresses the lack of room on Mama's lap near the end of her pregnancy.  Little Cub has less and less room until finally she has to sit near Mama while she reads.  And one of the best concepts addressed is the fact that every child is uniquely made by God.

Another thing worth mentioning is that Mama tells Little Cub that the new baby is still in her tummy.  For whatever reason, that bothers me.  Babies are not in their mother's tummies or stomachs, they are in the womb which is a completely different location.  Enough said.

With a newborn in the house, my older children (7, 6, 4 and 2) have all experienced Mommy being pregnant; while I don't think they've had exactly the same questions that Little Cub expresses, they all enjoy this book.

Disclosure: I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

New Purex Triple Action UltraPacks: My Review

Purex is at it again!  This time with the New Triple Action UltraPacks.  No more mess.  No more spills.  No more heavy jugs.  It's Laundry Simplified.

So, what are Purex UltraPacks?  They are convenient pre-dosed liquid detergent packs that make doing laundry easier than ever.  The Purex team managed to squeeze all the performance of their new Triple Action liquid (which I reviewed here) into just one powerful pack.  Each of the UltraPacks contain powerful 2x concentrated liquid laundry detergent, giving each pack double the cleaning power in every drop.  The packs dissolve quickly, even in cold water.  And again, as with the other Purex products, they are safe for all machines!  These UltraPacks are available in both Mountain Breeze and Free & Clear.

What the Mountain Breeze UltraPacks look like.

I have been using the Free & Clear version and love them.  You just drop the pack in the washer, start the washer, add the clothes and done.  That is until the dryer is needed :)

 The UltraPacks I received.

What a Free & Clear UltraPack looks like.  Note: This product works best when your hands are dry.

Starting the wash

My clothes are coming out clean and fresh indeed.  In fact, these are so easy to use I decided to let A have a go at doing a load of laundry (with supervision of course, but she DID everything on HER own!).  Want to see how it went?  Check out the video below and then let me know what you think.

Disclosure: Purex provided a free sample of their Triple Action Free & Clear UltraPacks so I could write a review (through the Purex Insiders Program).  However, all of the opinions expressed here are 100% my own.

Nature's Hand Granola: My Review

Ever heard of Nature's Hand?  Nature's Hand Granola is the flagship brand at retail for Nature's American Co., which has been manufacturing great-tasting granola cereals and snacks since 1971.

For the first time in the Company’s 40-year history, Nature’s American Co. is bringing something new to the table.  While many granolas are loaded with preservatives, sugar, sodium or trans fats, Nature’s Hand granola was created for health-conscious consumers who still love the taste of authentic granola, and uses only the world’s finest ingredients.

Nature's Hand Today

The new product, which features an improved texture and more clustered blend, is made with roasted oats and wheat, tasty nuts and seeds and delicately sweetened with caramelized brown sugar and honey.  Nature’s Hand uses only premium all-natural ingredients like soy oil, which is full of fiber, protein and antioxidants.  The brand is low in sugar and contains no artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, cholesterol, trans fats or sodium.

They have several varieties of granola: Original Vanilla Almond, Cranberry Delight, French Vanilla Almond, Raisin Hazelnut, Cinnamon Apple, Maple Pecan, and Wild Blueberry!  Makes it hard to pick a flavor I know.  I was blessed to receive samples of both Nature's Hand French Vanilla Almond and Raisin Hazelnut granola for review.

 French Vanilla Almond

Raisin Hazelnut

So, what did I think?  I loved it!  Truly.  Both flavors are super delicious and yet very different from one another.  I think my favorite is eating it straight out of the bag.  What a delicious and wholesome snack.  Another thing I love, I can take it with me and eat it on the go.  I have also been eating it as cereal with milk...yum!  And of course don't forget that you can mix it with yogurt and/or ice cream.  I love having a healthier snack option when my body is hungry in the afternoon.

You can tell I opened the French Vanilla Almond first.

Please check out Nature's Hand and let me know what you think.  And be sure to follow them on facebook and twitter while you are there!  I also want to mention that there are some fabulous looking recipes on their site as well that you may want to try.

Rediscovering My Crock Pot

 My leftovers

Yesterday, I made Barley/Black Bean/Corn Bake in my crock pot and felt like I was rediscovering an old friend (in fact, I decided to name my crock pot Silvia).  This was a new recipe for me and it is excellent.  I was excited that it is essentially a one dish meal.  It is meatless and fabulous.  Last night we had it in tortillas with sour cream and salsa.  Tonight I am cooking the mixture in stuffed bell peppers.  I love that this is going to be a diverse recipe that you can really change up for leftovers.  I am so excited that I have two more slow cooker recipes lined up to go!  Thank you Silvia - looking forward to seeing what we make in 2012!

Happy 2012!

Well, a new year has begun and I am so excited.  What does 2012 have in store for my family and I?  I have no idea but I want to find out :)  I pray that this year is full of the Lord's mercies - the ones that are new every morning!  May I grow in Him every day and honor Him in all that I do.

We ended 2011 with a bang with lots of crafts and fun.  The kiddos received lots of art gifts/crafts for Christmas and it has been so fun to work on them together and to watch them create.  Below is just a small sampling if you can believe it.

A, B & C all painted magnets to display on the fridge

The finished magnets

 A working on a painting
Learning how to make crayons.

Pouring the molds

More painting fun...

C finally got to make his clock!  It was a paint your own clock project and he had so much fun!

C had fun layering the paint.

A finished masterpiece.
