Summerfest 2021

The younger kids at the photo booth.

Friday was Summerfest at our church and we had such a great time.  There were various bouncy houses, rock wall, petting zoo, laser tag, dunk tank, games and our family had a grand time celebrating with friends and neighbors.  I think my favorite was the petting zoo because they had a baby kangaroo and he was the absolute cutest.

Charlie the joey, he was so soft.

The younger kids didn't want to hold the snake so I did!  Look Mom, a snake 😉

A helped run the cotton candy stand.

Hope you had a great weekend!  I am worn out (in a good way).

Backyard Bible Club Week

This week our chuch has been having Backyard Bible Clubs meet all throughout the city.  We are one of the host families and we are having a really fun time with all the kids that have come.  It's a great opportunity for everyone involved to grow in their faith and also a special time to have fun and meet new people.  I love that the older youth from our church run the clubs (A, B, and C are all at their own clubs).  My younger kids are having a blast and look forward to each evening.  Tonight is our last night - Super Hero Thursday 🦸

Swimming & Chicken Pot Pie

F chilling in the pool.

It finally felt a little bit like summer this weekend as we were able to take the kids swimming with a few friends.  Even though it was sweltering hot, the kids had a blast and came home with a few small sunburns (despite multiple applications of sunscreen - yep, they are my kids).  We are gearing up to "officially" start our homeschool year in the next few weeks.  We always have school going in some form or fashion but I always have an official start and end date as well 😊.

G loved having his water blaster.

E sitting on a pool noodle.

The older girls with their friend.

We came home and A made chicken pot pie from scratch.  She found a recipe and B and I helped her chop a few veggies but otherwise she pretty much made the entire thing and it was wonderful.  Her recipe made two pies so we have been enjoying them all weekend.  I love having older kids that like to learn in the kitchen.

One of the pies - yum!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Glimpses of Our Week

G jumping in the air in front of his fort.

I thought it would be fun to share a few photos randomly from the last week in our home, little glimpses if you will of some of the things the kids are up to (mostly G).

A made G this paperclip necklace.  He didn't wear it long (for safety) but he loved it!

F's really tall sword after playing Swordcrafters.

G playing piano.  I love that he sings along with the songs.

 A close-up.

Hope you are having a great week!

Bible Clubs and Week Long Fun

Bible Club Tuesday Morning

This week has been so much fun for our kids.  A and B helped lead Bible clubs all week.  C and D participated in a high energy camp, Xtreme Adventure, in the mornings through our church.  And E, F and G went to a Bible Club every morning.  Last night our church had Summerfest, which is basically a giant party to celebrate everything that happened all week.  Hope you have been having a great summer!

Bible Club on Wet and Wild Wednesday

The kids played Drip Drip Drop, Statues In The Park with the water hose and ran around in the sprinkler for added water fun.

Thursday was superhero day.

D in the petting zoo at Summerfest.

A baby capybara - so cute!

G watching the animals.

E with a cool balloon hat.

The younger boys riding the train.

G waved the whole time - it was so cute.

Hope you have an amazing weekend.  I'm hoping to continue the fun and get some much needed projects done around our home.

Camp David 2018

Camp David Campers 2018

I just wanted to thank everyone who donated for the kids to go to Camp David this year.  A few weeks ago A, B, C and D were able to attend Camp David which is run by the Texas Burn Survivor Society.  They had a blast!!  They went swimming, rode horses, fished, rock climbed, zip lined and had the time of their life.  Just wanted to share a few photos.  And thanks again!

Dropping off the older kiddos at camp.

The theme this year at Camp David was choosing kindness.

The kids had a movie night and watched Wonder.

 I love this photo!

On their way or headed back from swimming.

These photos were taken by counselors and other people at camp, not me.  I so appreciate all the photos that they took and shared with our family.

Back from the Beach

We are back from our amazing beach vacation!  We had such a good time meeting up with my siblings and their families - 11 kiddos ages nine and under and 6 adults makes for some very exciting times.  The picture above shows all the cousins together!  We also went Fishing!

D, C and their cousin

A caught a beautiful fish!

She must get it from her Daddy because David caught several fish including this Spotted Trout above.

I love this photo of A!

And this one of B soaring at the beach!

My sister-in-law asked D what she would do if she saw a shark and this is the face she made - love this girl.

It is hard to sum up such a great trip in one post - here are a few more photos.

 Beach Lunch

And David's famous Octopus Dogs.

So, what have you been up to?  Oh, and I should note - many of these photos were taken by my super-talented sister-in-law, you rock Dusti!
